1. How safe are the products applied to my landscape?

Our programs involve the use of the most environmentally friendly chemicals available applied by highly trained technicians with specialized equipment. It is essential that you follow the instructions provided by our technicians for maximum safety and results and to comply with EPA guidelines. You, your children and pets should stay off treated turf and way from treated shrubbery until dry or dusts have settled. Avoid unnecessary contact for 24 hours. Several of our fertilizers can stain fences and concrete, including pool decks. We will not be responsible for staining on surfaces that are not properly sealed or that we must walk on or pull our hoses over to service your lawn.

2. What kind of results can I expect?

The success of our program depends on properly timed and adequate watering and proper mowing. Be sure to read and follow the instructions that are provided in the Royal Palm Press flyer that is left at your home after each application. We can not be responsible for less than the desired results if our instructions are not followed. It is impossible to prevent insects, weeds and diseases from attacking your lawn. Our applications are formulated to prevent as many problems as possible. It is essential that you watch your lawn and report any unusual appearances to us immediately.

3. What happens if my grass or shrubs die?

We will repair sections of turf or shrubbery that are damaged as a result of our negligence. We can not be responsible for damages that are a result of an act of God (i.e. floods, droughts, lack of light, killing freezes, poor drainage and the like). We cannot make grass grow where conditions are unfavorable. Poor drainage, low light, root competition, and weedy natural areas surrounding turf areas are all conditions that will prevent your lawn from being lush and weed free.

4. How often do you treat my grass and/or trees & shrubs?

We will treat your landscape approximately every 40-50 days (weather permitting) during the growing season. Turf and tree & shrub applications are done separately as they require different equipment, chemicals and fertilizers. Your program provides continuous year round coverage, but our treatments are concentrated during the growing season (February-November). We do not routinely spray during the dormant season (December-January). This allows us to concentrate applications during the time your landscape needs them the most.

5. Can you get rid of fleas and ticks in my yard?

Yes! Our regular applications for insects that damage turf will also kill Ticks and Fleas. Unfortunately the life cycle of these pests is much shorter than the insects (Chinch Bugs primarily) that damage grass. In order to get control of the Ticks or Fleas we would have to make an additional application or most likely two additional applications relatively close together: the first to kill adults and the second to kill new hatchlings. As a customer, we can price these additional applications for you and get your issue under control. In addition to the work will we do outside, you will need to have your house and pet(s) treated to coincide with our first treatment so all adult Fleas and Ticks inside and on your pet are eliminated.

6. Can you treat Fire Ants?

Our regular turf program is designed to control turf damaging insects. Fire Ants are not turf damaging, in fact they are beneficial for your lawn (they encourage thatch decomposition). Needless to say, no one wants Fire Ants. Our regular applications will discourage Fire Ants from moving into your yard. The longer we treat your yard, the lower the chances are that Fire Ants will be a problem. If you do have a Fire Ant problem we can treat your lawn with products specifically designed to control them. There is an extra charge for this service. Contact our offices for a quote.

7. Does your tree & shrub program cover citrus, roses, annuals and vegetables?

Yes and no. We will treat citrus if the fruit is not ready to harvest. Once fruit is within 4 weeks of ripening we will stop spraying your citrus. We treat all other perennials in your yard. We do not treat annuals (Begonias, Petunias and the like), vegetables, Roses, or trees over 4” in caliper. We can only spray to 15’ above ground.
